A wonderful antique Victorian brooch depicting a circular serpent biting its tail which in Victorian times represented love, loyalty and eternal love.
The piece is decorated with sparkling old cut Paste stones which run around the circular shape and to a fabulous head set with Turquoise eyes and a 0.50ct deep orange Fire Opal.
Fire Opal is a transparent form of Opal and named for its alluring flaming orange/ red colour that is said to bring joy and happiness.
The brooch is fashioned in Silver and backed in 18ct Gold which has turned a lovely rosy hue with age. It would look beautiful pinned to a lapel and is highly collectable.
